Click A Taxi beats Danske Bank, Grundfos and IKEA to win App of the Year at the Danish App Awards

Press Release 03.12.2012 The year’s biggest award night for smartphone apps, the Danish App Awards took place this weekend at the Danish Design Center. Click A Taxi took home the award for App of the Year.  

Click A Taxi is the 2012 App of the Year

The app, which books taxis for users, took home three awards in total. The app won the biggest prize, App of the Year, but also took home the prizes for Best Usability and Best Travel and Leisure App of the year.

"Click A Taxi is a beautiful, simple and user friendly app that makes it super easy to book a taxi. If you’re in Madrid and you don’t speak Spanish and don’t know a safe local company, you just tap on the app and ten minutes later you’re on the way back to the hotel. The app sets itself apart from the other nominees by saving the user the bother of an otherwise time consuming task .” Says jury member and app developer, Willie Wu.

Christmas Party Weekend, 1st December, is the year’s busiest.

More than 100.000 Danes already use Click A Taxi. The company is especially busy in the Christmas Party season, throughout December.

”We had a new record, with a quadrupling in demand for taxis in the first weekend of December alone in Denmark. Happily we have the capacity to meet most of this demand, but waiting times in this period can be long. We always recommend that our users try to be extra patient in December – and remember their winter woolies”.Says Click A Taxi co-founder, Nikolaj Køster.
